My buddies Wayne and Doug introduced me to French Press coffee back in the summer. Wayne Cox of On The Ground Cafe in Elizabethtown and Doug Britt of Coffee Affair in Louisville.

I fell in love with French Press Coffee and when I fall for something I really fall. They both gave me instructions on buying a press and producing my first cup.

I’m a visual kind of guy so maybe this will help you by seeing how I make a pot. I filmed a quick video preparing a cup of French Press. I really just wanted to try out my new flip video.

I watched a few videos online and there seems to be a lot of different ways to make a pot of French Press Coffee. Hopefully you get the overall big picture though.

100% liquidation- everything must go.

We’ve lost our lease and everything must go.

We ordered too much inventory and everything must go.

Public Notice Canceled Furniture Orders and everything must go.

Overstocked and everything must go.

Clearout sale to make room for next years stock and everything must go.

Liquidation Sale and everything must go.

We’re moving and everything must go.

We’re closing our doors for good and everything must go.

We’re closing and everything must go.

We’re going out of business and everything must go.

Closeout sale and everything must go.

IDEA-don’t open a furniture or oriental rug store because you’ll probably have to move, renew your lease, close your doors, file bankruptcy and “everything must go”.

These ads are the worst. If the ads happened to be true (which they are not) I would probably hire some new inventory specialists and purchasing agents. The old ones have some issues buying too much stock.

Developer who spent the last 3 years in witness protection program somewhere in the hills of North Dakota with no access to news or TV- breaks ground on 20 million dollar high end upscale condo project and says the outlook is good.

Top Business Analyst says saving money, cutting expenses and watching cash flow are important in down economy. Analyst also adds that exercise and a healthy diet can help you lose weight and having sex can make you pregnant.

Marketing expert says key to marketing in 2009 could be websites. This was also the key in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Expert adds that replacing your dial up with high speed could be a good idea.

Apparently the free cheese line from US banks, automakers, retailers and state governments would wrap around the earth 3 times.

No longer will companies that operate online be able to charge money or make profits. This comes as web 2.0 gurus push for “free everything”. The businesses will be monetized by other non web 2.0 companies that buy ads on their sites. These companies are apparently allowed to sell products or services in exchange for money or else the web 2.0 companies couldn’t exist and sell free products and services.

Someone in the NBA scored a tremendous amount of points due to an apparent lack of defense by the other team. Everyone knows that defense is frowned upon in the NBA until the playoffs begin.

Major league baseball star refuses offer from Dr Evil of 80 Billion dollars- he says “I fill the seats and I entertains the fans.”

That was a fun 10 minutes at lunch.

Just a little rant I did for the guys over at Pop Rants. It’s fun to act goofy every once in a while.

Remember Jack Handy from SNL years ago. His deep thoughts always made me laugh as a kid. I just stumbled upon his website and added a widget to my sidebar that has 10 deep thoughts feeding into my blog at all times. If only Stephen Wright had something like this- that would be jackpot.

Some random thoughts of my own.

I just got a rebate check for my 1998 palm pilot purchase. That’ why I don’t fill out rebates. Just kidding.

I spoke to someone at the Revenue department a while back and they told me I owed them $70 from 2001. I said I never got a bill until this week. They said have you moved since then. I said yeah who hasn’t. They said if you moved then we don’t have your correct address. I said you mailed me a bill. They said it just got updated. I said you’re the government and you couldn’t locate me for 7 years. I think my dog would have a reasonable shot at finding me if I relocated within the city, but not our local government.

I was contacted by an Anthem Insurance customer service rep the other day. She asked me if I wanted to change my plan to a higher deductible to save some money on my monthly premium. I decided to raise the deductible to $5000 and I asked her what the new premium would be. She said I don’t have that information it would come from a different department. Apparently she’s is in the department that makes random phone calls to customers about raising their deductibles. She is adjacent to the department that handles calls about lowering your deductibles. They are one floor up from the department that calls to tell you a customer service rep will be contacting you about reviewing your coverage. I’m still not sure where the guy who quotes prices is located. Maybe they’re hiring to fill the position.

It’s the first time you have to wear jeans at night-preferably with no socks and deck shoes.

It’s the start of Fantasy Football and NFL games on Sunday after church.

It’s golfing while the leaves fall down.

It’s the Indian Summer.

It’s the first dew on the windshield.

It’s a golf scramble in a  wind jacket and pants.

It’s the World Series.

It’s the time change as summer slows and winter rears its head.

It’s my favorite season. It’s nostalgic.
