Are my Yankees are doing the same old thing expecting a different result?

The Yankees are stockpiling hitters these days. The trades with Pittsburg and Detroit to acquire Nady and Pudge are more of the same formula. Pick up big hitters and hope they score 15 runs per game because that’s about the teams ERA. That won’t work again this postseason if they continue their streak of appearances. The lack of pitching has killed them every year since their last World Series victory. I’m not being greedy. It’s OK for other teams to win. I just think it’s funny that they keep doing the same thing expecting a different result. It makes me think of three takeaways.

1. How often do I fall into this habit?

2. Peter J Daniels has been quoted to say, “You don’t learn anything new getting kicked by a horse the second time”.

3. The definition of insanity.
